More than one-half of California COVID-19 Workers’ Compensation Claims Were in Healthcare: WCIRB Report
Workers’ compensation claims are rising, especially after the COVID-19 crisis that the world witnessed and dealt with. Now, a new report by WCIRB (Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau) has stated that more than one-half of California’s indemnity claims in California arose from workers in the healthcare sector.
The Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau shared the information in a report entitled “COVID-19 in California Workers’ Compensation – 2022 Update.” In addition to mentioning that indemnity claims were due to COVID-19, the report also detailed the characteristics of COVID-19 workers’ comp claims in California. It also highlighted the impact of such claims on the state’s workers’ comp system.
